Kellie & Christian Welch share their stories of introduction and participation with the Christ Journey community:
"Christian: I found Christ Journey through my best friend, Olivia. Before that, my family had been to several churches, but they weren't focused on expanding and taking the church with you. I became connected with Christ Journey the first day I visited. Everybody was so welcoming and inviting. I felt connected because of the love and passion radiating from everybody at the coffee shop. That's when I decided I couldn't let this go. I decided to become part of the church along with my mom."
Kelly: I met my friend Kellie and her family through Christian a little over a year ago. Kellie had told me a little about Christ Journey and Rachel and how she got involved. She encouraged me to go with her. At the time, I was trying to please my dad, who had finally began going back to church. We were attending the church I had grown up in. Christian came home from visiting one Sunday and as he did at Olivia's house, decided that is where he belongs. He insisted that I go with him.
It didn't take long for me to see why he wanted to become part of Christ Journey. I too was met with such warmth. Kellie invited us to their house church group and a ladies' night out where I got to meet some really neat ladies from CJ. Since we have been there, there have been many families facing so much tragedy and turmoil. At the same time, no where have we ever seen so many people pull together to take care of one another even while in the midst of their own strife, and still managing to be active in the community. Christ is clearly at work here. I was stunned and so touched that someone I had never met helped me with my a/c. Amber Wurzbach was that special someone. I know it is through these relationships that things happen. When I tell people about Christ Journey, relationships are what stand out. I am impressed at Chris and Heidi's ability to remember new people. I went to a church for several years and helped with the Children's Church every Sunday. The pastor never remembered me."
